Once we get to Holbox, the program will start with a 2-hour boat tour around the Yalahau Lagoon. The lagoon is surrounded by mangroves and separates Isla Holbox from the mainland. You will be accompanied by a certified guide who will share some interesting facts about the place.
The first stop is the natural freshwater pool called Yalahau.
Yalahau, commonly called "eye of water" ("ojo de agua") is a freshwater pool with a natural gurgling spring. This place was used to serve as a watering hole for pirates. You will have some free time here to swim and enjoy the beautiful views. The locals say that the cool, crystal clear waters of Yalahau will make you feel ten years younger.
The next stop is Isla Pasión (Passion Island), which is all about the tropical sandy beaches, palm trees and the birds in their natural habitat. Here, we will have a relaxing walk, observe flamingos and other birds, and take some photos.
After the Passion Island, we will have an excursion to the island of Holbox. The streets of Holbox Island are made of white sand, which is common for the Caribbean islands, and there are very few cars. This island is considered a virgin tourist destination. Most people on the island earn a living from fishing, it is common to see fishermen walking around the village with their catches of the day or carrying their nets.
After the island tour, we will go the Mantarraya Beach Club & Hammocks, where you can relax in the famous hammocks above the water and take some photos for memories.
At Mantarraya Beach Club & Hammocks, you will be offered a lunch. You can choose from fish, chicken, ceviche, or a vegetarian dish. Afterwards, you will have some free time in Holbox before going back to the mainland.
